Christine Marie Nobre : Artist in Residence

Christine Marie Nobre was in residence at MERZ during March and April. Like the Romantic Poets of the River Nith, that flows through Sanquhar, Christine was inspired to celebrate nature. Here in sculpture and installation, Christine sets out her work around the town and the nearby woodland walkways for filming and photography. Christine helped recover the mural in Queens Road adding two of Napoleon’s soldiers, who were imprisoned in Sanquhar during the Napoleonic Wars, and who regularly walked the banks of the Nith and Crawick Water.
